We saw the release of ONE UI 2.1 along with the Samsung Galaxy S20 series and it brings a lot of minor features and a few major features. Samsung already started rolling out the One UI 2.1 to older generation flagships with time. As you may have already read that the Galaxy Note 9 also got this update a few days ago.
One UI 2.1 brings most of the features from the Galaxy S20 series but not all of them because of the hardware limitations in the S9 series. The update is currently spotted to be rolling out in Germany and in Korean builds which means it will gradually arrive in other Global markets soon. The update arrives with firmware version G96xFXXU9ETF5 in Germany and G96xNKSU3ETF4 in Korea.
The update brings features like Quick share which is an airdrop like instant file transfer feature which will work with the Samsung devices to seamlessly transfer files without any dependency on third-party apps. Another feature is of music share which lets you share your Bluetooth connection with other devices too. The update also packs the June security patch which is the latest from google. Our speculations suggest that this may be the last major update from Samsung for this device.
On the camera front, You get a new camera UI with some cool new features Integrated with One UI 2.1. You get the pro video mode back again after it was removed with the ONE UI 2.0. Single take mode here allows you to take multiple images along with filters in a 10-second clip. There also some new and improved filter options available too.
The update will be rolled out to other countries in the upcoming days. If you want to check for an update then Go to settings>Software updates to check and if available then you can download and enjoy the One UI 2.1 after the update installation.
