Wifi calling was introduced in India by Airtel which is in short a calling service which uses Wifi network to make calls without latency and quality issues. This service was meant for those people who are mostly indoors and there are so many places where the connectivity is not good which results in voice issues and sometimes call drops.
To overcome this problem, Network operator’s had two options,
First to increase the number of towers to reach each and every corner of the homes and offices which is a hefty and costly process and still it would not guarantee the demand.
The second option was to come up with such a way which would be cost-effective and easily available.
AIRTEL then came up with the idea of calling via wifi network and they implemented it soon after.
Just after a month of wifi calling announcement JIO also came with the wifi calling technology thus forcing the OEMs to roll out this feature via a software update.
Now Realme has also rolled out this feature for almost all of the devices and here is how to enable it.
1]Go to settings
2] Click on Sim card & Mobile data
3]choose the airtel or jio sim
4] Under network settings of that sim you will find the option of wifi calling.
5]choose wifi calling preferred.
That’s pretty much it. You can now enjoy seamless calling experience via jio or airtel even when you are indoors and don’t have enough mobile coverage.
You will see the wifi calling logo on the status bar when you connect to your wifi.
