WhatsApp is hands down one of the most used messaging apps in the world. Most of us have at one point in time wanted to use some privacy features that were not available in WhatsApp, even though it had some pretty important ones too. It also still lacked a lot of customization options (which it still does relatively) and some privacy features too.

But GB is a third-party modified application and of course, META has not had a good reputation for privacy, I would certainly not give the privacy of my most used messaging application to a third-party modder.
As of now, WhatsApp is pushing a lot of good updates to the end users including an option to hide online status for everyone just like the “LAST Seen” status. If you enable it then you also cannot see the other person’s Online status and the other person also cannot see your Online status of you. In this guide, I am going to show you how to hide online status in WhatsApp.
Steps to hide online status in whatsapp.
- Make sure the app(WhatsApp) is updated to the latest version on the play store. If not, then update it to the latest version.
- Open the WhatsApp app
- Touch the 3 dot menu on the top right of the app.
- Open the settings of WhatsApp from that menu.
- Now Choose Accounts and then open the privacy settings.
- In the privacy tab, choose the “Last seen and Online” settings.
- Now choose the Last seen to Nobody and choose who can see you online to Same as last seen.
In these 6 simple steps you can easily hide the online status from everyone and you can also play with the settings to hide it from a particular group of people or to show it to only a handful of people while at the same time excluding everyone else. This could come in handy for people who want to protect their privacy.
